Scope and Contents One diary includes entries written by Hearn covering the years 1940, 1943, and 1944. Hearn attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College during the 1940s entries, and the entries feature Hearn’s desire for better grades. Many entries contain information pertaining to Mr. Dallas Williams, a speech professor who taught Hearn to lip read. 1940 entries last until April 19. Two black and white photos measuring 4 inches by 5.5 inches and 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches featuring D’Jelma Hearn and another woman. Fifteen black and white negatives featuring D’Jelma Hearn and the campus of Southwest Texas State Teachers College. One envelope from the Fox Company addressed to D’Jelma Hearn. Envelope was used to house negatives.
